Nicky Mostert-Phipps

Nicky Mostert-Phipps is a software development lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth.  She also acts as a research supervisor for various student research projects. She received her MTech in Information Technology from the NMMU in 2005 and her PhD in Information Technology in 2012. In 2011 she also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE). Her current research interests focuses mainly on health informatics, specifically the role that various health information technologies can play in improving continuity of care. She has been a board member of the South African Health Informatics Association (SAHIA) since 2010 and is currently the secretary of SAHIA.
